Learn

I lead a variety of workshops and seminars that take place nationwide. I try to create a calm and relaxed atmosphere that allows students to thrive and excel. I can take up to 18 students per class and can also give workshops from home (8 students maximum).

For upcoming workshops and seminars have a look at the events page. Alternatively, you can learn to quilt in the comfort of your own home with help from my two quilting DVDs, available to purchase from my online shop.

Workshops

My workshops are designed to help with planning and creating a quilt design, whilst also stimulating and developing confidence in the use of fabric and threads. The classes are planned in such a way that all levels of ability are catered for so no one will be left feeling lost.

Seminars

Insight into Durham Quilts

This talk includes an exploration of my large personal collection of both Durham and Welsh quilts. I cover my own personal journey through the quilts and the social history associated with them. Displaying the two different groups of quilts, I go on to illustrate the comparisons between the Durham and Welsh quilt stories.

Introduction to Sashiko

This talk is an introduction to the Sashiko style of stitchery which includes a small sample for you to work on at the end of the session. Sashiko is a decorative form of stitching, using a contrasting thread to the fabric.

Marlborough Summer School

I teach annually at the Marlborough Summer School.
